Hey Fred,
I watch the AMEO web site daily about where energy is coming from.
It is very interesting, very rarely does renewable energy, wind, solar and the battery produce more than 20% in the daylight hours, solar is very disappointing at 5% per year.
The push to add Solar panels to existing houses has slowed so Solar and wind farms will need to grow Massively, disturbing thousands!
I have a white Surfmist roof (absolutely White) and I need to pressure clean wash it every year to keep it absolutely White (clean) You can not believe how dirty they get, bird shit, dust etc, plus if you have Blue / Silver sarking containing bitumen the bitumen in my opinion leaches out around the ridge capping and onto the roof and Solar panels making them tacky attracting dirt? If you have a dark roof you don’t notice the dirt (as much)!
So Nuclear is the only answer! (Large power output from small Land area)
Listening to the Tech Guy on 2GB he mentioned the average household, parents with two cars and two teenage children with two cars. In the country average house may have two garages, then two cars parked in front of the garages with long leads to the outside cars charging at night, only green energy at night is from Wind / Hydro.
Then cars in cities without garages with extension leads running out to there parking space on the road.
If you work afternoon or night shift the car sits out not charging at works car park or on the street, get home and charge your car at peak rate, unless you only have one car, the wife goes shopping and sometime the car runs out of power.
https://aemo.com.au/energy-systems/electricity/national-electricity-market-nem/data-nem/data-dashboard-nemWhen China, India and Asia do something about climate change then we should follow!
How much climate change do these countries contribute 60-70%?
How many of these will be driving their EV’s. 1, 5, 10%?
You won’t hear the Australian greenies demonstrate against them!
They should go over there and demonstrate (and probably go missing)!
It will happen, but not in my lifetime!
Anyhow, Cheers Phil.
