G'day Phil,
Not sure if there many of these classics around here mate.....import laws are very tough for cars older than 5 years of age so, dare I say, this 67 FB might have been in Vietnam from very early on. I know a few American cars were imported during the war.
I have seen 3 1st Gen Mustangs in 7 years, including my recent find.
As for the "better shape" bit, I am partial to the "handsome" 67/68 coupe, but i am extremely biased
Sorry to here about the Roo damage to the 66FB.....Bloody roo's don't seem to have a distinction to what car they choose to jump in front of.....I saw a 67 Eleanor wrapped around a tree in Noosa four or five years ago and it made me weep....
Glad to hear your beast 68 is running happily again Phil.
AussiecV8.......Not yet mate. I haven't started negotiating yet as the Vietnamese can be pretty mistrusting of Westerners, and I have only met a couple of the young lads who take care of the "workshop" and not the owner, which is where my Vietnamese mate will smooth the way.......Time will tell....[ Vietnamese New Year now so I need to wait until things go back to normal ] [ well Vietnamese normal anyway
Another find: There is an old bloke who lives nearby who has got an absolutely immaculate HG Holden, converted to LHD......I reckon it may be an old Diplomatic vehicle from the early 70's. Will try and get some pics..
Take care lads
