What have you done over the shutdown.
« on: August 02, 2020, 12:03:16 am »
Hi all, first of all I want to wish everyone good health and prosperity over the Covid 19 period.
I like a heap of others have been locked away for some time, some of it my own fault,  I had a bad dirt bike accident, so that kept me out of business for a while, you may have noticed that the Mustang forum has been a good friend to me over this time!

But I've been able to change the engine, gearbox and diff oils.
Made a shock tower brace.
Changed all braided rubber hoses to braided Teflon to get rid of fuel smell.
Fitted new horns, what a marathon that was fitting them right, but have to check out if the horn has a relay, seems not and all the current is running though the horn button, causing the horns not working properly?
Fitted a fuel surge tank and pump that I bought two years ago, (slack) (fuel surge problem cornering and hills under 1/2 tank).
Fit new water pump pulley.
Repaired the water leaking into the vent cowl.
Car hasn't  been out since mid April!
Anyhow she's almost ready to go again!

Hope this time hasn't been to bad for you all.

What jobs have you done!

Cheers Phil.

If you've never buggered anything you've never done anything!
But if you've buggered a lot maybe you're not very good at it!

Two for one is good but four for two is better!

Iā€™m still stranded in WA, since the 19th of March....
Not able to touch, drive or do anything on my Mustangs. My ā€˜01 Cobra vert is on its way to WA so I can drive it while here. My ā€˜64 is in the garage in Sydney and it will stay there until I will get back

Have fitted the heater to the '69
Trial fitted the lower dash - all good.
About to fit the steering column and put a wheel on it so it can be steered.
Then the engine and gearbox go in and then off for paint - hopefully in the next couple of weeks...
Black '69 CJ 4SPD car under construction (425/504)

No Lock down in Darwin but fabricated a monte carlo bar all polished stainless that clears most things as the ones i looked at were cheap and nasty chrome ones.

No lock down for me either in WA but had a couple of days off because I was sick of seeing everyone else off. I'm in mock up after media blast and rust/panel replacement. Managed to mount my vintage air evap, mounted condenser and big block radiator, make all my brake lines, mounted ignition coil, mock up MSD atomic, throttle cable and new pedal.

Hopefully shortly will be doing my fuel system, mount thermos, A/C hoses, custom exhaust, seatbelts and child anchors in rear. Getting closer to paint.

Ditto what AussiePhil says. Great work, and clearly very productive use of your time too.
Keep those photos coming.

So isn't that the best excuse you've ever had to go treat yourself because you've been brave? Not food obviously... something for the car perhaps?

Can't chew any solid food for 6 bloody weeks as worried my jaw will crack where the tooth and cyst were removed from.

Hi all,
I've had a bad run lately,  15 months ago I fell through my ceiling breaking 5 ribs, had a heart attack in February playing tennis and a dirt bike accident in May and broke nine ribs, shoulder blade, punctured lung, bruised sternum and damaged 2 vertebrae.
But I'm on the mend (nearly) and trying to convince my wife to keep my Yamaha WR450F.
As you get older you don't bounce like you used to! Not much recollection of the accident I think the bike must have landed on me!
Although I've had heaps of accidents this has been my worse!
Hope you've all had a better run than me, but I'm sure some may have not!
I reckon I'm ready for a ride next month!
On a more positive side I've finished off fitted an "pump in" surge tank, Submerging the Bosch 044 has quietened it a little.
Chin up, Phil

Hey Dwayne, wish you the best! Good chance you catch up on some thick shakes if you can stand the cold.
My favourite is chocolate!
I don't mind a chocolate Sunday either!
Mmm, I think I might go to the freezer and get a almond magnum!
Cheers Phil.

Bloody hell Phil, I'll stop feeling sorry for myself and be thankful I stopped riding bikes years ago.

Look after yourself too.

Thanks Dwayne,

It had to catch up with me sooner or later!
Just love the feeling of being free, watched "On any Sunday" that week and was having a great day!
Dirt bikes these days are much more forgiving so you go faster, got crossed up in a muddy paddle!

Cheers Phil
