Interior paint

I'd like to have the interior rear panels repainted...
Is it something you can do yourself? What kind of paint/spray paint? To use...
Or do u take it to panel shop?

How do you stop getting them scratched from seat buckles?

Don't know what material is used in a 67 F/back but i'm guessing steel or fibreglass.
Use automotive spray acrylic with a coat of clear to help stop scuff marks.
i guess you could have it painted in two pack also.
Or get them trimmed in vinyl maybe.

The '67 FB trim panels are fibreglass with a chrome steel panel either side where the vents are. Yes they are very vulnerable to chipping and paint damage. Lots of screw fixings to remove them from the car for repainting but not difficult, but the rear fold-down seat and rear seatbelts get in the way though so not a quick job IMO.

Some people wrap the panels in vinyl which does look a lot neater IMO than the rather basic factory paint with the simulated surface grain. That will be probably be my choice down the track as mine are starting to look a bit average. And I'm not overly concerned about originality.
