Can you install a 302 intake on a 289 ? I read they are the same.

Dimension/fit wise they are the same.

There are two different possible firing orders for the 302 depending on what cam you have so just make sure your intake is for the older style firing order.
Cheers,
Brian

Do pardon my lack of knowledge on this subject, but how would firing order be effected by an intake manifold, especially an old stock one?
The reason for my asking is l have just purchased an Edelbrock 7521 Intake manifold and l cant recall seeing any mention of firing order on the specs sheet..,

Most factory manifolds have the firing order casted on top. By installing a manifold off a roller 302 will have a different firing order casted on it.

Car would still run, just the intake runners would not be setup optimally for the different firing order.

There is no difference mate they are the same, in any case 302 firing order didn't change to 351till later on. I always change them to 351 firing order as its easier on the main bearings and block . Its only the cam that determines the firing order. So your Voodoo cam will be 351 order.
