Yeah, I'm looking too - but only looking, cause after I sold mine 3 years ago, they are selling for $20,000 to $30,000 more than what I sold for :ouch: :ouch:

Yep, used to be able to pick up a really nice 67-68 fastback for $50-60K then all of a sudden they jumped to $75-85K.  :omg:

God damn!

Why the sudden interest; the re-release of the Bullitt perhaps?

I guess the exchange rate had something to do with it as well.

When I said "sudden" it was probably more like 6 months to a year starting late 2016 to early 2017.

I reckon Bullitt mania would have had something to do with it but also for whatever reason the supply of cars up for sale from that period has dropped off quite a bit as well.  2 years ago there would regularly be half a dozen 67-68s on CarSales at any given time, now it's typically only a couple.
Cheers,
Brian

That's still rather sudden, lol.

That'd be because more people are holding on to them. I wonder why that'd be the case more so than say 65-66's.

Not as many 67-68's in Aus as 65-66's so supply v demand definitely has an impact

lol, as is the 65/66 which I prefer but I really dig the 67 fb rear slope from roof to tail; looks very tough from behind.

Built a 347 for one last year, nice paint and body done by 60's Rust in Brisbane, numbers matching car, I built the 347 in the original 289 block, was standard bore now +30, Rpm heads, AED double pumper , Voodoo full size roller cam 272, link bar Howards lifters, rpm air gap, Ice ignition, 10.5:1 comp, 428 factory 24" rad  hi vol water pump, etc runs super cool,. Magnums & Foose wheels. 2600 stall and new C4,  new pipes ,pacemaker headers, when I did the engine. Owner as a lot of original paper work from the US, Pretty nice car. Very tidy paint really nice like Tahoe Turquoise sort of colour, engine bay body colour as well. Own is interested in selling for the right $ far as I know.

there's this one:  https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/Ford-Mustang-1967/SSE-AD-5626806

Well that one sold quick and the asking price was $82K.  The market for 67-68 fastbacks is alive and well...

he also prefers black!
I wouldn't think he can afford to be too fussy on colour, not many black ones around I don't think.
Also, has he got a realistic budget?
Not just condition but GT vs non-GT, big-block vs small-block, stock vs resto-mod, amount of factory options, etc etc etc will affect the asking price.

I think John was referring to my black '68 J code GT 4 speed that could be for sale for the right price...  :burnout:

You could always jump on a plane to the Land of the Septics as they're a bit cheaper over there.

Either way he's going to have to up the anti by around $20k. Until you really start looking then you realise the price hike.
