Electroplating /replace with new.

Hi all  was looking at quarter window frames mine are  pitted  etc .
question has anybody had theres replated 
there of 69 fastback.

Yes have done.
Bit of a lottery, as the castings become pitted under the existing chrome over time.
So the re-chroming guy can find himself polishing, then filling freshly uncovered pitting, polishing again, more filling, more polishing etc etc just to get to the re-chroming stage.
Depending on how fussy you are, the probable unknown end cost much depends on what your frames are like to start with. One frame might be quite good, another will be crap and it's time to dig up a better one.
But do they look fantastic once they come up well!

^ This is why chrome plating is so expensive, it's labour intensive and you have to find the right company that knows what they're doing and is willing to spend time on your part.

The best finish is triple plated: Copper, Nickel and then Chrome and the quality depends of the thickness of each plating.

Back in the day most stuff was just double plated, Nickel and Chrome

After each plating the part has to be prepped again, imperfections removed, etc. before going into the next bath for the next plating.
