could you do it with just a -8 bulkhead style fitting or would you need to replicate the factory pickup tube and get that welded in?

My float had a pin hole so need to change anyway bought the one from the US has a return line provision so will come handy later on down the track.

What power should people upgrade to 1/2" setup?

Over 700HP . 3/8 line is fine for street cars under 700 HP . Different story for a track car as they will run a 1/2 inch line but with the best electric fuel pump  or pumps with return lines and the best fuel system and filters . The problem with the 1/2 inch line is the G force pushing the fuel back to the tank and that's why you will need a big electric pump and a top fuel system to match .  Run a fuel pressure gauge you can see and watch at high revs and a fuel ratio meter as well . Stock 65/66 mustangs use a 5/16 fuel line other than the GT models . Ford changed to a 3/8 line in later years for most models .

If you have 1/2 inch line through the car do the rest . You want good volume and low pressure with a carby .  Just make sure your pump can Handel the 1/2 inch line and a good return line .

Yep that's on a dyno run ,different story on a drag track . No G force on a dyno .  You are running a return line aren't you ? . If not you pump won't last ,it will over heat .

Ok see it goes .  With a 1/2 inch line we usually run an electric pump at the back ,pushing the fuel .  You won't know till your on the strip and watching the gauges . As I said different story on a dyno just ramping the power on .
