"I tracked down the builder who told me he built the car for the late owner over 20 years ago. He says he did a body off, rotisserie restoration on the car back then."

"I would be happy to show this car in person to any serious bidder.  We will not be going for a joy ride!  I have it well insured by Grundy International but will not drive it because of the value of the engine."

Yes Barny there's a laugh a minute in the listing ....

"Since we have such tremendous interest in the Mustang!, we have decided to remove the reserve and sell to the highest bidder."

Has had 3 bids since 7th July ... going up in $100 dollar increments.  :lmao: :lmao:

Let's throw a big engine in my mustang ,cut out the towers ,take off the export braces ,run a very small exhaust system ,fit the fan straight onto the pulley and let's go and sell it

Was just thinking that also but have never heard a 427SOHC engine before.

I have heard a couple here and a few in USA and they are generally mechanically noisy but that one has a clack clack  noise like like a dry tappet noise in a more modern motor.

The timing chain in those things is about six feet long - seriously. There is all manner of tensioners and guides under the timing cover but they still they flop around and stretch. There is a lot to make a noise. When they were the hot ticket in Top Fuel racing for a few years in the '60's there were gear drive conversions (seven gears) routinely put on them.
