Was look at a set and belt for a gilmor drive today,  has anyone got any experience about these and how do they work, are they easy to install.  what are the good and bad points about them.  Cheers

Easy to install, I just liked how they looked, and the noise they made..   only bad point i found was make sure you carry a spare belt...

The only bad thing I’ve herd about them is that the Gilmer drives can be little bit harsh on the bearings for your water pump and your alternator but other than that they are petty sweet.
When I get enough $$ ill be sure to put one on my 302w  :p

THEY CHEW BELTS IF TO TIGHT AND THROW EM IF THERE TO LOOSE !!!NOT WORTH THE HASSLE

I only had one drama. and that was that the company that re-coed my alternator did not tighten the nut !! hence loosing a belt. other than that i didnt have any hassles whiplash.. and i run one for 15 months;_
Ryan. i will have that set back next week if you are keen on it...

I run the Gilmer setup on my engine, one advantage is there is no belt slippage, only thing is if all the pulleys aren't lined up so the belt runs straight then all that torque is put on one side of the belt causing it to snap. I carry a spare which costs $59.

Yeah I used to carry a spare, but then again, doesnt everyone these days driving an old car.. I mean  not many ladies wear pantyhose anymore  :_:+
