WTB: 65/66 Mustang Upper Control Arms
« on: February 14, 2017, 02:05:29 pm »
Has anyone got a pair of 65/66 upper control arms lying around that are in need of rebuild ?. I really only need the two arms and two pivot shafts, no need for ball joints or other hardware.

Ideally need them in the next week, let me know what you have.
Thanks, Tony

Thanks Dwayne, don't need rebuild kits.
I only require the arms and shafts for exchange on some rebuilt arms.

I'll have a look to see if I still have the old ones too.

Awesome, thanks Dwayne.
I'm sure there are many worn out arms lying around in garages.

Spoke to Mustangs of Melbourne this morning and they recently dumped some worn out arms, bad timing.

The reason the old ones get dumped because there are brand new aftermarket control arms available for peanuts already fitted with bushes and ball joints ready to bolt on........What is your problem?

No problem.
I've purchaed a pair of upper control arms that have been machined and fitted with space grade teflon bushes instead of steel bushes, I just need to find two arms and shafts for exchange.

Bring them tonight :)

I can rebuild them to sell and I'll send my old ones over to him.

I'm just in Stonyfell, so probably an easy drive to your place if you don't make it down tonight.

Have you tried local mustang shops/builders in Vic?

They've probably got them laying around.

As previously stated I spoke to Mustangs of Melbourne but they have none, plus I have contacted others with the same result.
That's why I posted this WTB hoping someone could assist.

Fingers crossed mk1_oz can help out.

I've still got the old shafts here but the arms were both cracked where the perch spring bolts on.

As Dwayne suggested, I will get mine to him then he can send you a pair.  If I don't go to the Mustang meeting tonight I will try to drop them to him tomorrow so that you can get a pair quickly.

Glad to help out.  I have had my fair share of help from this forum so far!

Freight should be pretty cheap, just sent a pair of El extractors your way for $18 via e-go.com.au

Cracked arms are no good, they must be structurally sound and rebuildable

Thanks for all your help mk1_oz, you saved my day.
Received control arms in the mail yesterday, Aust Post took two weeks to get them from Adelaide to Melbourne.
