Who is supposed to contact me?
« on: February 08, 2017, 08:37:52 pm »
Hi guys , i ordered my mustang in early November last year. .. i had been waiting for my order number to be emailed like everyone else ive heard about. Anyway i decided to ring the dealer and after consulting his computer informed me of my 'stock number' and build month.. he then told me you dont normally get told until its getting built! So who is responsible for contacting me... ford or the dealer?

I ordered mine in June last year, received an email from the dealer in December I think, with an order number.  Then last week a phone call and another email telling me to expect an early May delivery.  All communications should come from your dealer.
Dave.

As Dave says it should be the dealer but people have been getting different experiences with their respective dealers. Some are good and others not so good with communicating with you.

From reading many threads on this I think most of the time the dealers won't give you any info unless you call or email them
Ford Australia will email you an NSC number, a build completed an in transit email and one saying car is on a ship on the way to Australia
Best bet is to get VIN no (ring your dealer) once you have received build complete email and track through shipping company
Ford info is usually a couple of weeks old by the time you get it
Most cars a averaging 10 to 12 weeks from build date to delivery depending on what state you're in
Hope this helps👍
Cheers

Build date, not order date.
I'm not allowed to spend money on my cars, but I can help you spend yours!

Contacting Ford Aust via their FB page and asking nicely will also get you the info you are after - most times  :thumb:

Good luck dealing with ford Oz, they are poor at customer service at
The best of times. The dealer should have told you the wait period,

Then I would think if the build date is correct you will be looking at a July to early August delivery at best. That depends on whether it's an early or late May build :toetapping:
This would be excellent considering the current deliveries arriving in oz were ordered at least 12 months ago
