2016 Mustang Insurance ?
« on: January 04, 2017, 10:23:23 am »
Hi everyone. First post on this forum. :hi:
After a 12 month wait my new Ruby Red 5.0 GT Mustang is due to arrive this month.  :smile01: :smile01: :smile01:
I have a question to those that are lucky enough to have acquired theirs already.
Can you recommend a good insurance company that will give the cover that this car deserves.
Or should I just go with one of the big generic insurance companies.

We have our 3 Mustangs insured through Ryno Insurance. Their cover is comparable to other insurers including Shannons and reasonably priced. They also off limited use cover and monthly instalments at no extra cost.

I use Shannons for all my cars and they do a good deal for me.

Been with them 6 years, had a claim 6 months ago not my fault, premium $7 cheaper than last January, VERY HAPPY with service from my claim & price. Post code does count & I am in Sydney!

You're in Qld, I'm in Sydney, hence mine will be more expensive....my excess is $550 on the S550 & $300 on the '66. Shannons (now part of the Suncorp group "AAI") is more expensive here in Sydney also.

I think Suncorp make it difficult for you to choose your repairer.

Absolutely....my son has his own repair/resto shop & they are the hardest to deal with from a repairers point of view, especially the GIO sector. All the larger companys will give the customer a hard time telling them they MUST go to their "approved" shops, don't listen to them, tell them where you want your vehicle to go to & stick by your decision.

But who wants to do battle with an insurance company.  I opted to use Allianz even though the renewal for my 2015 GT went up 15% (not happy) and it was $400 more expensive than AAMI.  My main dissatisfaction with Allianz is that I can't modify the performance, and I would really like a cold-air intake.

Just wait until you get your green slip renewal. Just got mine for the 02 Cobra  Last year $411 this year $616. My 68 F/B went from $366 to
$402.Will have to have a talk with the NRMA.The insurance itself has only gone up about $7 on the F/B.

Hey guys,

My Ingot Silver V8 Fastback is supposed to arrive at the dealer tomorrow.
I was quoted $107 per month by CGU.
Will probably go with it because it is 3 years replacement and choice of repairer.

Check out the CTP calculator.....gives you "your" particular rates, 6 companies & changes every year, so don't just accept you're renewal each year, check b4 you pay!

I  find Suncorp more expensive than a lot of other insurance companies .

Suncorp has something like 10 or 15 different insurance brands. I used to work in an adjusting firm, and was astonished at how many 'insurers' Suncorp actually was.

Here is some of them from memory:

SUNCORP

VERO

AAMI

SHANNONS

BINGLE

GIO

APIA

And I think you will find the underwriter for Shannons is AAI Ltd.  They just have a different policy that includes choice of repairer.
