Hey Guys,

I just received my order number in an email from Ford, just wondering how long you all had to wait after that? Wait is killing me......

ordered mine mid March 2016, got my order number June 30, expecting delivery Jan 2017

I ordered mine on 4 June this year and got my order number today as well. They must go out as a job lot.

I ordered mine start of Nov 15 and pickup date is the 4th Jan 17 it is on the water somewhere between NZ and Panama the handover date changed 4 times

talking to guys a Ford Ive been told Feb-Mar by one and Apr-May by another. Hopefully the first guy is right.

Seems like they are getting a bit faster turn around from when I ordered mine.....ordered March 2015, Delivered April 2016.

Still, six months is far too long a wait, but gee it is worth it.

Got the second email from Ford today saying my car has been built and is going on the water in 20 days

The dealer rang me today with mine with late July expected delivery. No email from Ford yet, he said he is usually 1 week ahead of the emails. It will be a long wait.

I have decided to wait for the MY18 model - GT convertible - and dealer has advised Ford Australia still has no advice on the car which should be shown at Detroit in January. So best guess is September 2017 delivery at earliest (assume car build July in the US). I do have the number plates - BRUMBE - stashed away though!

Hi all, ordered my 5.0 GT fastback in February 2016, built oct 2016, landed in Melbourne on Dec 10, dealer said expected eta was yesterday dec 17th, it didn't arrive. Currently deliberating on what kind of conversation I am going to have with the dealer tomorrow about the fact that I have a holiday booked next week to go in the mustang with my wife and currently I have no car....... Argh. He said yesterday I can expect it on the 23rd dec however I am meant to leave at 4am on the 23rd. In my new car. Feeling mighty frustrated right now. even have the car bra out the back ready to put it on so it survives the hay plain. Any Dvise on leverage points wi the dealership would be welcome. Wallsy

1. If it's not delivered to the dealer yet then it's probably an issue with the car carrying company.

2. You'll get further with sugar than you will with vinegar.

3. If you hurry you may be able to still rent a Corolla for your driving holiday

Mine went from Sydney across the Hay Plain to Mildura the week after I got it. Brilliant drive for a GT. It just eats the kilometers, the driving is a breeze and overtaking a joy.

Thanks folks, yesterday they said it would be on the car carrier today and now they tell me the 23rd again, after waiting since feb I am getting mighty frustrated with the dealership. My Audi was delivered on the exact date they stated!!!cant understand why it is so hard for ford. Oh well I am sure the drive will be just as you described Jasonk. Have a great Xmas I am hoping to

Dealer has told me that I will have it 14 Jan so not long now but sure there will be delays, the dealer has always been great, he is a Mustang fan and treats the enthusiast Mustang people specially.
If it's late it won't be the dealers fault, it will be the doc and transport company.

Well an update on mine
Ordered Guard in November 2015
Told February 2016 cant have that colour anymore
Delivery date changed 5 times
But now it is confirmed for a 19th Jan pickup (the dealer has the vehicle in their position but I work away)
It is strange where you see people ordering and 6 months later they have received theirs it makes you wonder how the system is working

It looks as though we're stable mates, I received the same email on the same date.
I have the shipping tracker, however so far there appears to be no movement.
Have you had any updates at your end?

I haven't heard from my dealer lately ( Cumberland Ford ) so I'm treating no news as good news, still hoping for a late Jan early Feb delivery.

Dec 19 2016. car on its way from factory to dock but I don't have vin number or info for tracking
I'm guessing I'll see the car around the end of March

where can I find the shipping tracker. All I got was an email from ford saying car is built and on its way to the dock

Ordered my manual GT Lightning blue from Klosters Newcastle about the 10th January 2016. Got a stock number in July meaning it was going to be built. Was told in Oct that it had been built. Told again by email that it was on a train to the dock, Nov. On the ship 26th Nov to Aust with stops on the way. Arrived in Port Kembla on 29th Dec. Now in customs and quality control before it goes on a transport truck to Newcastle. Then the pre delivery checks and FINALLY, to me. So close now.
Any else from Newy or Lake Mac with a new stang?

My Ingot Silver V8 fastback was on the same ship, the unfortunately named Tarago.
Arrived in Melbourne on December 23.
The dealer rang me on the 29th to say he had received an email saying that delivery was 'imminent' which apparently means anytime in the next 48 hours.
Its now a week later and he told me today that he is expecting to get it on the 7th.
I don't think the dealer is at fault for the wrong info - he originally told me he would get it 18 December when I had an email with the details of which ship it was on and could track it to see its arrival date of the 23rd.
It just kinda sucks when you're like a kid waiting for Christmas.
It seems it would be smarter of the dealers to not give dates.
