Looks like you are in Tassie - hope you are prepared to travel!

If you don't have a preference, a '70 fastback will be cheaper than a '69 cos they are not as cool...  :bolt:

Damn, didn't think anyone saw that!

Bur seriously, most of the '69s on CarSales at the moment are $60K+ for a small block with the exception of one lone car in WA for $37K...

No you are correct BAC 69s are way cooler than 70s .....Sorry Glenn your 70 is very nice too!

I've seen a few fastback 69 & 70s turn up for reasonable prices, but you have to be prepared for a bit of restoration or even a full paint job.

I picked up my second 69 for only $17,000 four years ago, with a straight body, negligible rust but it needs a paint job. I wasn't interested in a Mach 1 as you pay a premium for vinyl stripes and woodgrain, and I am building a Restomod. It all comes down to what you yourself want.

I wonder why we fight amongst ourselves when we should be discussing what shit boxes 69 and 70 Camaros are!

They sold more 70s because they had run out of 69s! and they heard the 71s were coming!

I bought my first 69 10 years ago for $23000. It is a 351W fastback with power steering, power disc brakes, was air conditioned, fold down rear seat and 9" rear.

They are still out there but about $15,000 dearer now. Forget about a Mach 1 though, not really a necessity.

Should be do-able if you are not set on a genuine Mach 1 (which is not a performance upgrade anyway).

Did you check out these two on CarSales?

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ford-Mustang-1970/SSE-AD-4103089

With genuine Mach 1s at those prices you'd be wanting to check them over pretty carefully...

"The 1970 model year Mustangs were restyled to be less aggressive and therefore returned to single headlamps which were moved to the inside of the grille opening with 'fins' on the outside of the grille sides. Some felt the aggressive styling of the 1969 model hurt its sales and this view prompted the headlamp revisions and simplification of other exterior styling aspects. It's worth noting though that 1969 model year sales exceeded those of 1970"

'Nuff said, but I guess you '70 owners are more in touch with your feminine sides...  :lmao:
