2.33 is a pretty tall gear ratio .....

I don't know of such a ratio and I would think it was a typo .  Maybe a 3.23 type ratio is wanted but I don't think that is an 8 inch ratio either ,but will get close to that with 3.25 .

No typo 2.33 was fitted to 69-70 mustang e and maybe some vans.

Wow ok  :thumb: . That ratio was only in 1970 I think and is rare as . I have never seen that ratio ..  Maybe a 2.50  and taller rear wheels . That ratio might have come out in some other ford models but only 1970 for mustangs .
