ECU's

Hey all
I have an eec-iv ecu in my 67. The original trans was an auto and 6 odd months ago I changed over to a t5. My question is are there different variants of ecus depending on if its auto or manual. Its a 3dfa model ecu. I'm wondering if its the cause of my recent random stalling issues as I pulled the ecu today and found a capacitor burnt out. The 47uf 16v one. From what I've read this capacitor problem could lead to a whole host of issues that I'm currently going through.
Thanks for any assistance fellas.
Cheers
C.

I know the Australian eeciv and eecv are different for auto and manual. Funnily enough idle will suffer and occasional stalling. I believe there are two parameters that need changing. You can get a j3 chip from someone like ti performance that will make an auto ford eec work on a manual.
