Unfortunately Australian dealers don't have the option of avoiding GST, so we will always be more expensive than buying through foreign suppliers.
True, sadly.
Another upside of shopping local is you have someone local who stands behind the product, who can give you advice based on local laws and conditions, someone who you can go to if there are problems, and god forbid, someone you can take to court of things end up that way.
With purchasing from overseas, you either loose all those protections, or they can be far more difficult and or far more expensive to pursue.
Now, as for the resonator deletion - it certainly delivers on sound volume. If you have watched the CJ Pony parts video on the vanilla deletion (ie, NOT the one where the Borla has already been fitted) - the sound isn't impressive. Well, in fact the sound it every bit as loud as I would want it to be. At least 50% louder than stock to my ears.
It sounds to have a deeper note, and, here is the bit I am not overjoyed with, does have a metallic sound under some conditions - the exhaust guy said the noise I am referring to is 'raspy' and is quite normal. At cruise there is no droning, and it has a wonderful angry rumble on start up.
Overall, for the $360 I spent, I am very pleased with it so far.
All that said, Mrs K still isn't convinced it sounds like a proper V8!
