2016 cs/gt mustang
« on: February 06, 2016, 09:57:40 am »
I really like the suede seats on the  California special mustang's also like the different grill I wish aus ford would give us some of those options.
I have to say ford here are really hopeless with info on the car or what options are available, it was pretty much give us a deposit now bugger off.
I had my ssv ute seat's redone very similar to the CS with alcantra leather (basically suede) but with blue stitching and they where much more comfortable
and no sticking to seat in hot sun, But that cost  2k.
I did a quick search and I can get a cs grill from lmr.com, but it's double the price of any of the other grill's

I agree its a shame that we were not given the opportunity to be able to select some of the options that you can in the US like interior colour, wheels etc

The biggest shame is that Ford says they want to improve their customers experience, except of course if your Australian, then your experience is not as good as an American customer. Given that the vehicles are coming of the same production line, it can't be that hard to give every customer what they want, particularly given the long lead times they have between Australian orders and Australian deliveries. For a company that is about to become solely an importer and still has a relatively large local workforce, now is the time to get their ducks in a row. Too bad if you wanted one of those new Focus RS's, they look like they will be even harder to get than a Mustang.

I think it has more to do with satisfying the high demand from right hand markets, that they want to build the car as fast and efficently as possible. I have no doubt that once the cars start piling up at dealerships they will add more options. Right now they just want to get the car to the early buyers.

Having said that though, that california special is awesome!

The article says that Ford Mustang 2016 has "brand-new" Sync 3 infotainment sys-m. Well, I think that it was not so new. Wasn't it used before????

Mine will be built next month. I am expecting a sync 2 in it being an Australian delivery but hoping for a sync 3.

Evidentially Ford are in the process of evolving Sync 3 for Australia but it isn't going to hit our shores until 2017 at the earliest. A shame really that it will take so long.

Whats in the upgrade, I see that you can have multi wi-fi camera inputs which would be handy?

I think you will find that it is Ford USA who are dictating the state of play which leaves Ford Australia and it's Dealers in the Dark. But agree there should be more options available. At least we got the Premium Pack included as Ford USA could have just given us the Basic car with the same limited options we already have. Here is my Race Red GT Manual that I have owned for one week today. I know have my premium personalised pales on it.

Ok don't bother trying to deal with saleen they rarely reply to emails and when they do it is about 4 weeks later.
this is why I ordered from bmc but that was a mistake, they actually just pass on the order to saleen. they don't get the part then ship it.
so you end up with same problem, after 2 months with no communication from them I put in a paypal claim and they then finally spoke to me.
told me saleen have issues sending international freight, so cancelled and refunded the money.
I have now just brought a lower grille instead, the honeycomb style one to match the upper grill.
I got it from quirk parts (which is a ford dealer) on ebay, it arrived today just 8 days after I paid for it and is an original ford part.
