2016 Supercharger kit?
« on: February 04, 2016, 01:16:33 pm »
Hi, has anyone got one fitted or looked into it on the new 5L Mustang.
Prises or who's best to do it.
I would like to fit my own but may not be best way to go.

Thanks

Where to get it done depends a fair bit on where you are. If you were in Vic this is the place

(although Craig has plenty of interstate customers too)

They will be available through the Ford dealer network sometime this year. There has been no pricing released as yet . They will be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

+1 for KPM Motorsport

They did my Falcon GT, lazy 500kw..

They have there Street Fighter packages up to a mental 800HP and they are also partnered with Hennessey and provide there kits also, all available with 3 year factory warranties.

Need some deep pockets though..

10K is the cheapest yet. I might have to give them a call.

Is the Auto able to handle the extra torque and powergain by adding a supercharger ....How much torque and KW can the Stock Auto handle ??..Would the manual be a better proposition ??...

If you're going auto - get an additional cooler fitted. I would have thought that the guys selling this stuff would know what the limitations are, and any weaknesses, so take their guidance.

Black 2002 SVT Cobra - 2003 Terminator Clone (575rwhp/716rwtq - SOLD)
Black ‘63.5 Galaxie 4SPD fastback (just you wait...)

Its only because the new Shelbys are only available in Manual, so you would think that maybe the current autos aren`t strong enough ......

Can anyone confirm if Bathurst Ford offer a 10k super charger kit ? I assume at that price it is not including fitting .

So many rumours...I've seen more blown than stock, not interested as 306kw is plenty for me. As for the auto overheating? ask NSW POLICE

Yes the auto needs a trans cooler . The manual trans have fast shifting problems and some are braking 5 gear with the supercharger just like the axles .

I was talking to a ford dealer yesterday and they told me ford Australia has just decided not to offer the factory supercharger because of emissions problems . I don't understand when the ford falcon came with a factory supercharger and so does the Holden  commodore with the LSA supercharged engine  think I will ask another dealership the same question . Would I buy one ? Hell yes   waiting time is 6 mths for a new one .

I wouldn't bother asking the Dealers, they're salespeople, contact Ford Australia's Technical Services Dept. direct.
