351W 2 Barrel Cast Intake
« on: November 26, 2015, 07:58:13 pm »
I need an original cast iron 2 barrel intake manifold for a 351 Windsor. Not sure of age of my engine - not sure if it makes a difference.

Prefer SA where possible

Ouch! Not many of those still around, I'd reckon - most would have been turfed 30 years ago...

Might have more luck finding a 4 barrel but I guess that wouldn't satisfy the inspectors?
Cheers,
Brian

Would the 2 barrel Autolite carby fit on the 4 barrel intake?  If so, I suspect the rego inspectors would not be able to tell the difference (they would not remove the carby)??

No you can not do that . Surly someone on here has taken off there 2 barrel carby intake manifold and carby to fit a 4 barrel and have it sitting around .  That's why I have one sitting around .

Mate they must all be in QLD, I have one you can have too. D70E-9425-BD.
But I think the freight will be the killer.

Cheers.  Freight would be OK if I did not need one ASAP.  Overnight freight is $140+  ouch.

Hopefully the local one I found is ok else I will have to rob QLD of one!!!

Brian ,
Check your existing mounting bolt holes, some have 16 holes, usually on 4v heads,
others have 12bolts for  v2 heads

The extra holes can be drilled and sealed with short bolts.

Tip: When fitting use a four of long bolts with the heads cut off as alignment pins

Cheers,
ND

I have one and carby of the partners 68 model windsor, we replaced it with a 4 barrel manifold and carby and I would like to sell it for offers around $150 , I am sure I can get a fair postage deal on it to SA as I am in Bathurst.

Its on!!!!  Had to use the engine hoist as my back just wasn't going to cope with leaning into the engine bay with a 20kg boat anchor.  Will see tomorrow if I have any leaks.  I was pleased to see that the valley was almost spotless so this motor has not done alot of Ks since its last rebuild.
