WTB 1969 Mustang 1:18 scale model red Mach 1
« on: September 01, 2015, 10:14:15 pm »
If anyone happens to have one of these that they are willing to part with I would like one for my collection. Must be a red one. A 390 S code (with hood scoop) is preferable but will consider other Mach 1s

To my knowledge, other than a couple of 1969 Boss 302's I don't think that Highway 61 did any 1/18 '69 Mach 1 or S Code Mustangs. They did a heap of 1970 versions (which I have most of) but never saw the one you are after. Good luck with your search.

I have seen an ERTL red Mach 1. These come up occassionally. One came up for sale in Aust in the last couple of months but I missed out on it. I will keep looking though.

Thanks for that Dave, that is the ERTL one that I have seen. One went for $70 in Aus but I missed out because I checked it too late. If it wasn't for the nearly $90 in postage on top I would be tempted. I am sure that one will come up at some stage, I just have to keep checking.

The Ertl '69 Mach 1 has a CobraJet shaker. It's not a high end model with respect to detail & fit but presents really well, I certainly like my aqua one. The wheels with raised white lettered tyres look great. But I suppose the hood is all wrong for you in any case with the Ertl - one option might be to get hold of an American Muscle '69 with hood scoop & paint it to your colour. ie. a visit to your local modeler shop & a little mini project.

Thanks, a good option to paint one up.

Good to see the attention to detail: the side stripes don't line up properly just like on the real thing...

Plus that one's in Royal Maroon so I think you boys should let me have it:

I missed out on it but not all bad as I realised that it wasn't red anyway and had a white interior. The search goes on.

That's correct teacherspet. Candy Apple red with black interior and that type of scoop if possible.

Mark, give Daniel a ring as he doesn't have everything on his website. But I have a feeling he doesn't have one otherwise it may have ended up with me.

Will do. I have sent him an email on the website but I will follow it up with a call as I am after another model as well but that one is not a Mustang.
