Oil pressure switch
« on: August 16, 2015, 06:51:42 am »
Hi guys, car in question is a 94 Mustang GT with 302 V8.

I noticed that my oil gauge is not registering when the car is running but the needle moves to around half way when the ignition is turned to the ON position. As soon as the engine turns over the needle goes all the way back and stays there.

Question: Could the problem be the oil pressure switch or the gauge?

Also, I noticed that the oil pressure switch has a different wire connector than the factory one. It has a spade type connector as opposed to the factor screw on type. It looks like someone has adapted the connecting wire to fit the unit.

Question: Does the unit have to be the original factory one for it to work or can any unit be adapted, as long as it screws into the engine block succesfully?
