1969 mach 1 - RHD dash conversion question
« on: June 07, 2015, 03:27:22 pm »
I'm just checking what other owners have done with their RHD conversion mach 1 sports roof steering column surround.

Mine has been done already but badly so i wanted to fix it up.

I see that my RHD cars steering column is not centered to the dash gauge cluster , it's offset to the left about an inch(LHD mach 1 are 1inch to the right) so a new dash moulding from the US will not fit around my RHD steering column.

How have members got around this?

Mine was already done when i bought it and on close inspection it looks like plastic welded and is coming apart, plus its been painted and its all peeling off.

anyway, have other members had to chop and plastic weld their steering column moulding surround? Are there any RHD steering surround/gauge cluster moldings available?

thanks

Ive done some 67/68s I just weld them with a soldering iron, then bog the outside face, 2k highbuild prime them and send them to the guy at the Sunshine coast that makes coffin handles "Hiqual" to have them chromed then repaint them
