69ISH Purple 69 Sportsroof new shaker

A few photos of works in progress so you can see how I managed to get it to fit and if you look at all the photos you can see I was limited on room everywhere. A lot of fun considering it could not even shut the the hood with the front of the hood sitting up approx 4"when I first started. It is meant to be a big block shaker which sits 1/2" lower but I have my doubts as we tried to fit it on Glenn's stang which has the small block shaker and we could not close the hood when it was on his either but the front of his hood was not as high. The only difference between Glenn's and mine is I am running a Quickfuel carby and he is running a Holley.

You can see in these photos where I have used the hole saw so that the needle and seats for the carby come through the base, otherwise the whole assembly would of sat another 1/2" and then some higher

Hey Rodney

Looking the goods right now.Did you cut the hole in the bonnet or buy a 70's shaker bonnet.

Bought a set of aluminium slats for the rear window of the 66 fasty,I like the look but it won't appeal to everyone.

Standard 69 Hood with the hole cut into it yesterday, The shaker was a last minute decision on Monday instead of fixing the hood scoop otherwise we would have bought the one with the hole already in it and by the time I changed my mind Huey had already stripped the EDP coating so it could not be returned anyway.

I have already argued the point with the supplier Mustang Auto Parts at Bulimba and they swear it is a Big Block Windsor and all the other people that have fitted them have no problems according to them.

No such animal,...... hard to have a problem with something that doesn't exist.... :ouch:
It is far easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission
