Chasing a C4 preferably a runner but it will be fully overhauled and beefed after I get my hands on it.SE Qld area or Nthn NSW would suit me if anyone knows of one.

Make sure you get a later model one . So what's it for ,the conv with the 347 ? .

Hi Glenn,thats the plan build a tranny that will suit the engine.Critics out there seem to think it has a lot of lump and no grunt,Only time will tell.

It will go don't you worry about that ,and it will sound great . 438 HP is plenty in a early coupe , just get the high stall sorted and the c 4 done right and you will be happy . For what you want I would go for around a 2800/3000 stall , rebuild the auto but put a after market planetary gear in and a trans go stage 2 shift kit and a trans cooler .

derek my '68 model C4 will be available within the next few weeks as im hoping to finally fit my AOD.
i fully rebuilt the trans 2 years ago with all the good gear.

Hey Griff,I have time/no time on my side I just want to fit up this engine and drive the car at least once .I have no idea what stall converter to run but I know the engine is supposed to put out 438hp and 415 ft/lb of torque.It is a genuine Edelbrock RPM 347 so the cam specs are on the net.I am willing take your C4 if you think it will fit my requirements.Derek

Get onto the converter shop in Brisbane ,they will sort it out for you . They will ask for cam specs ,cu in ,carby and intake ,gear ratio and approx weight of car . Will cost you a bit for a good one around $800 I would say . Just check that the auto is a 26 spline . As I said a 2700 to 3000 would be nice .

Just had one split and fully reconditioned for a C6 and it was only $280..

$280??? bloody hell mert my full rebuild parts alone were $650 when the $AU was flying high.
i was quoted $1500 for recond exchange box fitted so i bought my 68 box and rebuilt it personally with alto / kolene etc etc.
are you sure they recond it or just checked its pulse and wiped its ass??
