T5 I know it's not strong enough . I was more concerned about the high of the carb and manifold . I don't want to butcher the hood.

If your talking Manowar block you are talking high performance . Even if you went a low intake manifold like a std performer you might have clearance problems on a stock hood . You would be talking a taller performance intake then a taller air cleaner even with a drop base might be a problem .

Well yes and no . Manowar blocks are after market performance blocks ,world products . Just saying if you are going to use their block your not going to build a stock 460 ,or use a std intake manifold or std height intake .

The Manowar block is a 351W based block so it is a no issue that it fits. Far better than how a FE (390+) fits but not as much space as a 289/302 based engine. It is a very strong base on which to build an engine, e.g.,

As stated the only issue is the height of the Carbi though a drop base and it should fit under an E bonnet though you will not know until you try it.

Boof head is right and as fas as I know manowar ford blocks are 302w and 351w based not 429/460 . So a 351w base block/ engine has no hight problems . If you are talking a 351 stroker to 460 that's really pushing the limit . If you are talking a 429/460 base engine it's back the the things I have stated earlier . A 351w out to 408 and using a std late block is fine ,stroking over 408 its better using a after market block . Keep with the 351w type engine and every thing will be fine .

tq1 I have a 68 with a 460 big block, love it for its huge torque but if the car hadn't come with the engine fitted (which I have modified) I wouldn't do it again. I'd go the stroked windsor route.
The problems where. Had to notch the shock towers and run struts to get any decent clearance to run headers. The motor is actually longer then an fe so getting a decent radiator and fan assembly was a pain. If I did it again I'd cut the radiator support panel so I could push the radiator out further towards the grill. Currently had to fit a chin spoiler to assist in air flow through the radiator and out of the engine bay. All because the engine and radiator fan assembly is so close.
The motor with a decent modern dual plane manifold is high enough that I needed to put a boss scoop on so that it would all fit.
We had to modify the brackets so that the brake master cylinder was tilted 15 degrees so that it would miss the rocker covers ( motorsport versions that would clear the roller rockers)
The weight with the motorsport heads and aluminium water pump and manifold wasn't too bad but a windsor with the same would be much lighter.
What is great is opening the bonnet and seeing the looks on peoples faces as the engine literally fills the engine bay.

You can build that in a Dart or World 351 block, that's the way to go. 427 is a good option as well. You can do 408 in a standard 351 block. 4" stroke & 4.03 bore. cheapest option is a 393, thats just a new crank and 302 pistons, in a 351
