Festival of Steam at Thirlmere NSW
« on: February 23, 2015, 05:07:18 pm »
Sunday 1st of March - Festival of Steam at Thirlmere
The ever popular Thirlmere Festival of Steam, NSW's premier steam event, is an extravaganza of activity, entertainment, fun, food, stalls and of course, steam! Thirlmere village comes alive with all the fun of a country fair and its full steam ahead on the Thirlmere Heritage Railway with vintage locomotives operating throughout the day. The Thirlmere Festival of Steam offers something for everyone - it's a great day out! We still have a few spots available in the vintage car display area, cars to be parked by 8.00am due to road closures taking place. If interested contact Matt at 'MOCA Events' events@nsw.mustang.org.au to book a spot.

Maitland's yearly Steamfest is also huge with a Sunday car display. Averages around 600 cars per year. Steamfest runs for 2 days, and I will update with dates shortly for those interested .http://www.steamfest.com.au/ Sat 18 and Sunday 19 April 2015. This is an AWESOME weekend. Visit the webpage and see for yourselves.

It was an excellent day out for all involved. Thanks to the event organisers for the invite and also to the Moca Members that attended. Also to the Shannon's Representative that was more than happy to accommodate with the provision of some shade for our Members as it was quite a hot day  :thumb:

It is, Al. I'd like to see it become a club outing. The only problem is the need to book a club area in time and I think it's too late for this year. Still, it's worth checking out even as a family outing for the weekend. The Hunter Valley is NSW Tourism's best kept secret.
