Car storage
« on: January 19, 2015, 07:57:08 pm »
In a couple of months I might need to store my car for 12 to 18 months.
What have others used in the past and what is the going rate? By storage I
Mean somewhere to park the car with the option of taking it out when required.
I'm in Sydney.

I found an advertisement on gumtree and rented a double garage nearby for $300 a month and when I went to leave the owner offered it to me for $250 a month.
It was an investment property that he was renting rooms out to uni students but no parking on the property,  I also fitted my own locks to the garage and put black plastic on the windows so nobody could see what was in there.
I kept my Cougar and my Torino in there and took one or the other out and put my ute in there every Friday and returned it every Monday, once I had to get one of the Uni students to move their car and got caught out because it had died and had no hope of pushing it and destroyed my plans for the Friday night and I spat the dummy at the uni student and never saw car parked on the driveway again.
Beauty of it all was cheap rent and there was 1 uni student or another there all the time so cheap security watch as well.
