Canberra Mustang Show 22 February 2015
« on: December 04, 2014, 12:45:52 pm »
Yep, next year is the 'every second year' and it is Canberra Mustang Show time!

The event is on Sunday, 22 February 2015, on the lawns of Old Parliament House. Check out more on the website http://www.canberramustangshow.com.au/
including details for the preferred accommodation, Saturday afternoon cruise, who we are supporting and much more;even Facebook!

Website tip, keep your cursor toward the bottom of the home page to let the photos scroll through.  There are some very classy photos there, including three of the finest Reds you are likely to find.  Some say God owns a Red Mustang, a '68 Fastback I hear.

BTW, we are not having umbrellas in the goodie bag this year so it should be dry (insert praying to weather God icon).

Hope to see you there.

Cheers
Jacko

Accommodation

We have arranged special group accommodation rates at the Pavilion on Northbourne, http://www.capitalhotelgroup.com.au/pavilion . There is secure undercover parking and it is a short stroll up to the Ainslie Football Club where we are having dinner on Saturday night.

For those seeking a longer rest on the Sunday morning, we have arranged a mini bus to take you from the hotel to the venue later in the morning.

Quote the group booking code GF6 to secure the following rates:
Deluxe Room – $150.00 per night
One Bedroom Apartment – $200.00 per night
Two Bedroom Apartment – $250.00 per night

For members in Sydney and north from there, keep an eye out for an email closer to the date.  If possible, there will probably be a meeting point for a cruise down on the Saturday morning or for the day trippers, the Sunday as well.

This is always a huge event and for a very worthy cause so put it in the diary and plan a trip to Canberra.

For those heading down from the north on the Saturday, Warwick and a few others will be at the Wheatley VC Rest area (read toilet stop) toward the southern end of Lake George from around 11.00am.  From there we will take a leisurely drive to a new spot for coffee and a bite to eat.

Summernats has come on board and there are a 2016 entrant and season pass up for grabs!

Website updated for meet details for those travelling from north on the Saturday; see 2015 link.

Under the same link are details for the dinner on Saturday night.  www.canberramustangshow.com.au

We also have a very special Best Mustang of the Day trophy made by one of our members from a block of billet- very impressive!  I don't have a photo as the security guards took it away from before the guys started a riot!

Hope to see you there!

What a fantastic car show held yesterday in the Nations Capital, Canberra with perfect weather conditions and a great location to match.
With some Sydneysiders heading down on Saturday for an afternoon local cruise and a group dinner that night and others including myself leaving very early for the Sunday drive down, it was well worth the trip. Central West ,South Coast and quite a few Victorian Members along with the many locals made the journey with vehicle entrants being around the 103 mark.
A big thankyou to the MOCA (ACT) Chapter Committee members / organisers ,event sponsors and all the volunteers that made for a great event.
With a great array of trophies and runner up support packs on offer, Sydney Members had great results with Phil & Carolyn Nicholson ,Rex & Colleen White and Pat & Christine Schinella picking up trophies and prizes in their categories between them. Congratulations to all the other winners and runners up on the day.
The major winners of the day were Joe & Bronwyn Capizzi with their beautiful 69 burgundy Coupe picking up at least 5 category wins and best overall of the show  :thumb:

Hi there,
Which one was your car?
Also guys.
What a great show, I attended thinking it would be a much smaller event. Even with the rain clouds looming overhead, the heavens soon opened up to reveal some of the beauty of these cars that was muted with the clouds.
Good to see so many people in for the community spirit, even the guys that parked away from the club, only to be invited to park inside the grounds.
Was there a  final figure put on the money raised for such a good cause?
Congratulations to everyone who attended, I certainly was not disappointed.

My wife and I attended the mustang show on the week end and thought it was a great turn out. Some very impressive mustangs.
I am chasing some information on a mustang that was at the show.
The car was a red 66 coupe with a falcon EFI engine. I'm chasing who owns it as would love yo ask some questions as it very similar to my build..
If you know the owner could you please pass this on.
Thank you

Do you know what numberplate was on the red 66 coupe, as we could track it down that way

I took a picture of the plate, but for some reason it came out blurry.
I'm sure it only had numbers???????
