THANKS GIVING DAY QLD
« on: October 08, 2014, 06:58:50 pm »
Thanks giving day (all American day) is on again at lakeside raceway nov 9 th . Even tho a lot has changed it still will be a ok day and maybe the last . No club cruisers just all in cruising at 10 dollars a session .  Still has track challenge at $40 .  I will be going but not cruising ,BORING ,i will be doing the 1/8 mile drag race only ,and won't be parking in the pits area anymore with a $50 fee .

Don't think there will be to many in the pits (and maybe the grass for that matter).
Hope you do well in the 1/8 mile Glenn ... I won't be there to show or watch.

It's always heaps of fun, the cruising is more like cruising until the straight and lining up a race.
I love these days, the new chrome bumper days are awesome too.

I'm all for the new $10 cruise sessions, club sessions mean limited sessions for everyone.

 :burnout:

look forward to it!

Nope, the chrome bar days are actually better since there's about 10-12 sessions, I even had space to gun it around corners etc, I did a couple solid laps on one of the later cruise sessions without really anyone in the way.
I find the chrome bar days have more sessions so people get in early and it thins out as the day goes, I actually take a spare jerry can of fuel since I run out lol.
I think it's about $10 per 20min session.

Bring on Thanks Giving, I hope you chop the cobra ;)

Wow just watched the one with the ZD fairlane ,loved it ,and a manual too . Hey that black 2 door fairlane goes well with his new big block engine ,I beat him down the straight last year but won't now ,I  saw it race at all ford day and it goes hard . Think it runs low 11s now . Anyway thanks for putting that on it was great .  :thumb:

Getting closer who's going ,the mustang club ? .   Other clubs ?   I know  GCMCA car  club is not going for the 1st time in years ,and they normally have around 40 cars . They are sending at message to Gup that when you get greedy with pricing you get less cars and people going to events .  I am going but really shouldn't be .

These organizations need to put on a bouncy castle for the kids - I've got two high energy boys - else they quickly get bored so we don't end up staying long & the outing becomes an expensive waste of time by the time we drive there & back.
The Mustang show at Rocklea this year was a case in point, a bouncy castle was advertised & I was counting on it but it didn't eventuate so we didn't stay long.
Lakeside is a great venue, hopefully they don't get too greedy, they need to keep it realistic for families or we just go elsewhere.
