Spark plug type for 347
« on: August 06, 2014, 07:10:15 am »
Guys,

Wanted to see what people reccomend for spark plug type for 347 and gap?

Ive got a mate that used NGK BPR5EFS-13 , these actually come up for vn commodore v6. But run great on his simmular setup.

Anyone running 10mm leads, any benefits?

Car runs msd 6al

Cheers.

It depends what heads you have . NGK are the go and a 6 heat range unless its a daily driver in traffic and a big carby then a 5 .

Sorry forgot to answer the other questions . With a msd 6AL plug gap with a engine compression ratio under  or around 10.1 the cap should be about  45 to 50tho ,less for higher compression engines . 8 mm leads are fine 10 if  it's a full on race car .

Great thanks Glen. The ngk I quoted are heat range 5.

I might give them a shot see how they go

No ,it depends on what heads they are . Get onto the sellers of your heads and see what they say ,and a 6 would be better .
