Updated cost for container from USA.

Well after months of fun my container and contents have been cleared so have updated costs:
Container 40 foot shipped and packed by California Shipping cost $3895 US
Cassie Freight forwarding in Australia
$1000 GST
$286 cleaning car
$160 removal of packing material
$200 customs inspections (2)
$2400 Other fees for landing and transport to custom approved facility

So if you consider bringing parts in with a car not very cheap either.
Parts sent with car
Short motor
Set of wheels and tyres
Windcreen
Carby and manifold
Roof clip
grille
small items switches and motors for seats and windows.

So summary if you have cost of $7000 in container for GST the import cost will $8400 using these companies for shipping all the best.

Gee, that seems WAY too much. One car or two ?

I paid much less than that and afterwards had 2 brokers confirm I got ripped hard.

Imported $6k pickup with about $500 in parts in the tray.

Des ,was it your 40 footer totally with 4 cars or did you share .If it was 8400 total is very good ,plus gst on cars and parts .

40 foot container one car plus roof clip, engine and front bumper.

NB roof clip is a complete roof section cut off at bottom of supports.

Car is Ford but not Mustang is 1970 Tbird, engine 557 stoker.

Did not have a good photo of Mustang so used Capri as avatar.

Seems he rented the entire container, so as you say Glenn, container cost is pretty good.
