Importing a mustang out of long beach 12/4/14
« on: April 12, 2014, 02:50:10 pm »
Hi guys
After two years of waiting and a lot of hassle to boot getting my 67 mustang shipped it's finally on it's way down from Seattle and should be in long beach by now.

I was told by Laurie from cargo clear if I ship a second car it will make the container cheaper.

Anyone Intrested in sharing a container with me?

I was going to try and find another car but finding it hard to find the funds to buy another car in time.

I will be leaving for the us tomorrow for the mustang 50th with the mustang owners club for the tour. I will have a few days spare.

I was planing on going out to check out my 67 see what she needs and put some bits in her. Not sure about if I will get charged any fees for this loading the cabin up with spare parts.

Could maybe help fellow members out if I have the time. California mustang seems pretty cheap with there parts.

Ryan the mustang will be at Georges right ,PTS. Go see him and say hi for me ,get a list of all the parts you need for the car and go to car shop for all the parts you need .739 north batavia Orange CA  .PTS is not open sunday and car shop is not open sunday or monday .Fill the car up with parts but buy all the parts from the one place not all over the place so you will only get one import charge . www.TruckandCarShop.com .What ever you buy make sure its in you name only that you are going the ship back  ,even if its for someone else ,other wise you get extra charges .

Glenn I talked to George from pts not long ago he seems all cool for me to come and have a look. I will land on a Sunday and only have the Monday before the group arrives to collect there hire cars to take of to Vegas.

I will how ever be back in la at the end of the trip but I'd say the mustang will be packed by then.

California mustang did seem pretty cheap last time I visited them.

After reading your last post guess I will have to be carefull on what I buy. I'll head over to pts write a list of what she needs and go from there.

It was my understanding that, as long as you fill the car with parts for that car (ie: no no parts for a Camaro etc) then you should be fine. As Glenn said though, make sure it is all in your name.

You can put any legal part in your car you want as long as you leave room for the driver .Ryan any parts that you can not fit into the car will cost you freight .Remember to put your name on all the parts and make a list of them all with the prices for here in australia . If you want any performance parts go see Marcus at maxium speed 829 west crowther ave Placentia ,ph 9098513869 ,tell him your a friend of mine .

Ha Glenn it surprises me George seems to know quite a few of our members he seems like a realy good person to deal with. at this stage I seem to have hit a speed bump with the title on the car. George seems to think he will get it sorted.

Car is mint good body no rust realy a original car. had all it's parts. quite happy with it's will make a good project car.
