Window crank backing disk/backing plate.
« on: February 24, 2014, 10:00:16 am »
So,  I bought some window crank backing disks,  and they ones I got delivered are a flat nylon disk with a fairly large hole in the centre - quite a bit larger than the actual cranks.  On the window handles on the front windows the disks I have on there already have a sort of flange that locates them centrally on the handles.  The ones I got delivered dont have the flange and,  looking on line they all seem to be like that.  Am I missing something?

No, just repro quality.

what holds them in place then?  I think the quarter window ones come with a smaller hole.

From memory of mine, the repro winder handles have a thick flange that fits the hole so they stay centralised.
