Lots of big fires again in Victoria. Here in Gippsland we have the Omeo area fires in the far east burning and apparently a bit closer to us, the fire near Morwell has now got to the woodchip area of the paper Mills. Been such a hot summer and with today's strong winds...... "up she went" all over the state. The poor old firefighters are stuffed and need some relief. Just prayin'  for some cool weather and a bit of rain now. Not much in sight though!

Fire came close to Just Mustangs. Side and rear of property burnt but buildings and their mustangs OK

Others further south not so lucky with reports of at least one house and thousands of hectares, fence, outbuildings and stock affected

Fire there controlled but lots of hot spots inside.  Lucky the hanging rock crew cancelled the picnic

We are down here in Mexico getting our new caravan. We were booked in to Kilmore tonight but had to change as all roads in we're blocked. Staying in lovely downtown Fawkner instead! Plenty of smoke all over the place from Albury down.

Yeah Macka, I sort of got that impression, but beggars can't be choosers. With two kids in tow it was the only place within miles of Somerton (where the van is) that could accommodate us all - without having to put the kids in their own hotel room!

Already been outside to check and the Cruiser is still there with all wheels and windows intact.

Sydney Road is so quiet (said no one ever) and Ithink I managed an hour or so of sleep!

Now I'm looking forward to towing a 28' van in an unfamiliar city from the northern suburbs down to Lakes Entrance out East.

Thinking M80, M2 then M1 - I own shares in Transurban so at least some of the tolls we pay will find their way back to me as part of my dividends! That way I avoid any traffic lights, tight left turns, trams and those absolutely stupid turn right from the left lane! What idiot came up with that?

(And no, not dissing on Melbourne, I actually lived here as a teenager on the mean streets of Frankston and Karingal where you were flogged for supporting the wrong football team - carn the Blues, but now having been a Sydney resident for the last 30 years, I am a true Swan (yes I know they were South Melbourne) fan)

 :grin:way too funny Dave,

You go all that way, buy a caravan and end up having to stay in a motel.....

 :lmao:

Shame you couldn't have just got the keys and slept in it where it was.

Is that out Riddells creek way Macka? We still have fires going down here in Gippsland and Tim has been working at the one in Yarram.

Just mustangs is in the middle of the photo top right of the burnt ground. You can see the fire burnt right up to the back of the factory buildings

Great save by the CFA as the fire was into the town boundary

Tis a great shot Macka.  The photo clearly shows The oval where in the stadium well over 100 people were taking shelter, so it got close to them as well.
