What new rules???
I think you should go just to enter the eight mile drags, how many laps will that be????, you will probably want to change your diff ratio again.

Its a long way to go if something goes wrong ,last time i came back on a tow truck and 250 dollars poorer .Same or more laps this time ,but what they are saying they want around 80 cars on the track at anyone time to keep the speed down ,and making a speed limit .So smaller clubs will all be going on at the same time to make the numbers up . Now thats what they were trying to do a few mths ago so wont really know till we get there . You taking the 69 up .

If I have it ready I will definitely be going but I am having hassles with the car, I can only just get it to run in gear by keeping the revs up over 2500 rpm approx and can't figure out why, Christian came over last night to try and tune the thing and could not get it right either so the carb is now at motacarb getting some holes drilled in the butterflies and put it back on tonight and hopefully will run a bit better. I am about to go out and drop the oil as Christian feels that the carb has been running way to rich and will have been washing the cylinders clean and that there will be fuel in the oil and recommended  that i drop it.
I just want the thing driveable enough to go and get the exhaust fitted so then it can go back to motacarb and be dyno tuned properly as I am having hassles even finding a timing marker to get the timing right.

Hi Vic,
Was not a bad day, weather was cool in the early morning but perfect the rest of the day, numbers were down IMO on previous events and the new rules on club sessions sucks but all in all I still immensely enjoyed it.
I went looking for your car too and wondered what happened to you???

I dunno about that whole "speed limit" thing, I thrash the ass outta my car every year and I only enter the open cruises. It's all slow going through the corners but the straight its  :evilone:

It was a great day as usual, I love going to lakeside

I came down your way Rodney to see you guys. Caught up with Ed just before he went on the 1/8 run.

Happy to give you a ride Lee. I had a bit of fun with a sleeper HT on the way home, Man he had some grunt.

The New rules didn't seem to much impact. except show that some corvettes are quicker than me.

All in all another great day, lot of muscle to admire.

We need to preserve this type of event it is really a rare opportunity to "cruise" on the track.

See you in Nov if not sooner.

I don't know if I am going to do it again as our club paid for our track time before the new rules came out, Then the powers above decided to add another club to our track time which we knew nothing about them and they just blocked the track and drag raced down the main straight and had us going as slow as 30 kph for most of the lap and apparently we also only ended up with 12 mins.
We travelled over 200klms to the event and had paid for our track time then paid $20-00 to get in with one passenger and then another $10 to park and yet they let all the motorbikes in free of charge.
We can go to Queensland raceway for laps and lunch for $35-00 and we get Lunch in the deal, have half an hour of track time, not as far to travel, cheaper and did I mention we get Lunch in the deal.

It's the first time I have been to that event and enjoyed it heaps.  Met up with the MOCA people and chatted, also went on the club track time and also got passed by a few Corvettes.
69ish sorry that there is often someone who spoils things for others.  Got a couple of photos of your Stang - recognised the plate.
I'll have to get to a Qld Raceway event next.
Here's a link (if I can get this thing to work) of some of the shots I got on the day.

Nice car Ken
Are the side scoops chrome???
Glad to see some more photos of the day.
I think if you had been to previous events you would agree that this last event was no where near as good as previous events and it was not just the new format, the numbers of general public would have been at least half of previous events and even the nuber of participants was down a fair bit from previous events.
It will be interesting to see the how many attend the next All American Day later this year.

Thanks 69ish.  Yep the scoops are chrome.  Maybe I'm stuck in a time warp (Mrs 67 thinks so  ) but I reckon chrome is the go.  Adds to the lines of the car.
