I haven't had any work done by them, but the owner, Christian, is a straight shooter good guy in my opinion.

Yes that's mine. Christian is doing a little bit more to it now.
So I heard, The wheels he is showing you are going on my 69 sportsroof, I sat some 275/30/20 tyres (I plan on running 285/40/17) in my rear wheel housing today to make sure I had plenty of clearance, I would have preferred 285 wide tyres but can not get my hands on a set to check but there is only 10 mm difference in width and just over 13mm in diameter so not that much in it, I sat the rim in the tyre just to get some idea of what it looks like.

I was there on Wednesday and Thursday night when he was moving your car.
Both times I had to comment on how tough it sounded and he had commented that it has enough ponies to get most into trouble.

I mentioned to Christian I'd like to go 18" billet magnum 500's and he said he had a friend that had just purchased 17" and would flick me a pic of them, obviously they're your rims and I do like the deep dish and finish. The stance of your car is what I'm after.

I have more piccies and who and how I got them here
http://www.mustang.org.au/forum/index.php/topic,20272.25.html
I f I could do it again I would have ordered the 285/40/17 tyres with the wheels as a bare minimum and probably ordered 2 sets as well as 1 set of the front tyres.
It looks like I am going to have to order them out of the states anyways as the best quote I have had here is $1300-00 for the tyres fitted and balanced and not even with a wheel alignment.

Check this attachement for tyre size comparison.
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
I have used this miata one but I prefer to use this one as it also gives you a list of manufacturers of the tyres in the sizing you are calculating.

Yes the engine is a strong little unit and pulls pretty good, I'm trying to quieten it down slightly in the cabin but will probably need to change the exhaust system after fitting the new tranny.
The Dynamat should make a big difference in the cabin, I have not personally used it and I am regretting not having put it in my stang but I can always put it in down the line. Everyone raves about Dynamat so I would be surprised if you needed to change your exhaust system.
The 5 speed sounds like a good idea it would be interesting to here your comments after it has been in for a period of time on whether it was worthwhile on a car that is not driven daily. There are a few members in the Gold Coast Muscle Car Assoc that have put in Gear vendors overdrive systems in their cars and I think that is the way I would tend to go if I ever want to have that overdriven gear.
Cheers Rodney

Are you having trouble sourcing 17" tyres in Australia?
The 285/40/17 only seem to be made by a few companys, apparently these are ferrari spec. No one really carries them in Australia except for Kumho and Nitto, Kumho cost a fortune and Nitto are really a drag tyre.
I think importing them is the most economical and gives me a much wider variety.
