Hi all,

You guys may be interested in heading to the Cobra Car Club Shelbyfest on the 23rd of March at Winton Raceway Benalla.

This event is featuring Cobras, Mustangs, Daytona coupes and GT40's

Previous events had nearly 100 cars competing.

The main day at the track is the Saturday the 23rd of March.

It is totally free to come into the track and pits.

There is an area set aside for clubs to display.... :event:

So not a bad day to see door to door racing, go whoaa and drag racing.

There are also a number of traders displaying their Ford related product.

If you know any one that has a race car Mustang give Bernie a call on

0408 564448

Hope to see you guys there. Make it a club day event and run.

Bernie, sounds like a great outing for many to enjoy, thanks very much for the invite.  Not sure you will get a lot of responses on the forum pages as members are located far and wide around Australia and, not all local members are on the Forum but, it still pays to advertise.

Good luck on the day which I am sure will be a screaming success.

I cannot speak for the Victorian Executive Committee / magazine editor however it might be worthwhile sending them an email with the details too (check the Victorian Committee page on the website).  They might be able to include in the magazine if not too late or do a membership email?  Just a thought as I am not aware if those things are possible.

Again, thanks for taking the time to join the forum and the inclusion of this outing which could be of benefit to members in the area.

Whoaa what a great weekend.

With over 50 cars in the field and many more in the pit and paddock area it sure was a good weekend.

The field was made up of GT40s Daytona coupes and Cobras. The Mustangs were down in number with potential entrants damaging cars at Sandown etc weeks earlier. But a promise to be there next year.

About 19 Mustangs in the pits and paddocks.

I had the opportunity to meet a member from Tatura Victoria - near Shepparton - in his Wimbledon white and Guardsman blue fastback. He really enjoyed the weekend leaving and committing to make sure his friends are back next year.

To those that made it to Winton thanks for your support.

Next year we have been encouraged to run stock standard cars on the track -

Bernie,  it was great.  I got up there for the racing on Saturday which had plenty of action.  Ken did some laps in the Daytona and there were plenty of Cobras running up and down the Hume.

A good venue and a great day out.

Maybe our clubs could run a day out somewhere together?
