60 F100
« on: December 10, 2012, 10:16:04 pm »
Guys just after some advice I have bought a 60 F100 through Shermatt and want to know what I have to do to get this thing LO2'd.  It doesn't have seat belts and the red tail lights, and I know there have been some changes.  Do I just have to change the head lights and thats all, apart from the RWC or do I still have to fit seat belts and do the seat belt thing.  Thanks

As far as i know you still have to do the seat belts and do head lights and plate .Easy in  F 100 ,and red tail lights/blinkers are ok also . Give Dave walsh a call on 0411311473 brisbane ,does this for a living and has done plenty of lo2s for guys one this forum .

Yahoo picked it up with intrepidation, bought it through Shermatt.  Didn't know what to expect.  But overall I thought it was better than what I expected.  Now for some cosmetic upgrades, removal of the mexican interior, safety upgrades and fitting the A/C we will be ready to go soon.

Beautiful!!  :pepper:

I've been watching the F-truck market for some time. I'd like to swap my later Aussie model for an earlier yank one. There are so many of them over there and the buying seems great. Do you mind me asking what state you got it from and what ball park you scored this one for? PM me if you would prefer to share but not publish.

What motor has it got in it and did the drive-line turn out to be good?

It looks fantastic, going to be a sweet daily if that's the plan  :thumb:

Sign up to photobucket. It's pretty straight forward from there. Or you can click on the attachment button on the bottom of the reply post page and select the photo you want to attach.

I want to see it too. These things are just pure car #### for daily cruisers :burnout:

Its going to be a driver guys marked up with retro business signs.  300 six cylinder three on the tree with drum brakes.  The brakes are shot so not real sure on the rest of the drive line yet.  Bought a power disc brake up grade and vintage air conditioner in the states which came over with the truck, so they are going in before I drive it.  A couple of small rust holes in the floor which are also getting fixed.  The left door is screwed with rust but it will do until I source another one. It has the normal scratches and marks on the paint as it was used as a work truck before by a mag making shop.  It is a 10 foot looking car when you get closer you can see the scratches and marks.Plan is to drive it until the motor gets tired then take it off the road and drop a 8 and auto in it and give it a full respray but hopefully that is years away.  Bags maybe but SWMBO has told me to stop spending money on toys as we have a bub on the way.  The panels are dent free which is amazing and the interior has been mexicanised so getting new interior as well.  Shermatt sourced it and landed and with all the gear I bought for it, it only owes me about $13 so far I expect another 6 will make it a good safe comfortable car.

Nice! That was about the money I was expecting you to say. Almost half of that would have been in getting it here I guess. Nice buy, I think it awesome  :thumb:
