Has anyone had any dealings with One World Auto Shippers
« on: September 21, 2012, 02:14:30 pm »
Hi Guys,

I attended my first MOCA meeting a couple of days ago and everyone seemed pretty friendly but I didn't really get around to asking anyone about their shipping experiences. (It seems most people use a broker to purchase and ship, but I happened to buy the car myself and then attempted to arrange shipping)

I have been dealing with Norm at One World Auto Shippers (in California) recently and before I go in to too much detail I was wondering if anyone else here had dealt with that particular company and could share their experience.

Thanks

Stick with reputable shippers, try Mainfreight  07 3906 9890, they have guys in the USA and OZ, and ship regularly from the USA to OZ, Costs from memory are about $3400.

Have heard Harrys Classics also have a good damage free reliable carrier.

Best to ask the guys on here, who they recommend, rather than why they wouldnt use the one your quoting.

Don't know about them but from what I heard
Schumacher Cargo Logistics

I used them to send my 3 Mustangs in a 40foot container and it all went very smoothly
Highly recommend them

Are you in Melbourne?

Do a search on here, there has been a lot of talk over the years here about different importers.......you may find some interesting reading at least.

Strange name? sure but we don't all get to pick our nicknames.

Anyhoo, thanks everyone for their quick replies, I am shipping from California (LA area) to Melbourne and the reason I asked about this particular shipping company is that my car is already with them. I thought I had done the right thing, I got quite a lot of quotes and asked around. In the end I decided to go with this mob because the service was all inclusive (just pick it up from the docks) and it was recommended by one of the Mustang mechanics down here in Melbourne.

I am wary that if I get a third part involved at this stage and anything goes wrong they will start pointing fingers at each other. I am trying to gauge if it is worth that risk or not.

*sigh* I guess some things I just have to learn the hard way.

Once again, thanks for all the quick responses.
