Getting in behind door switch for interior light.
« on: September 20, 2012, 08:37:40 pm »
Hi All, I was just wondering if there is an easy way to get to the door switch? I have removed the kick panel, but there is no room there. I need to remove the bottom part of the dash and was hoping someone had some hints, otherwise it looks as if I need to work from the top down and didn't really want to pull out the instrument cluster if I could get away with it. The 69 has the foot/hand brake in the way, and it also has air con ducts. Any hints would be awesome. Thanks and Cheers.

I pulled mine out to fit some LED floor lights in. Definitely kick panels out. try and find the wiring further up the chain (where access is maybe easier) from memory it wasnt too bad but i could have been lucky and I also put the wiring back in..maybe try putting footbrake down first)

Ok the switch just pulls out and the wiring comes out a little as well .They can be a little hard to get from the kick panel .Taking out the dash cluster is not hard ,screws around the top .It will come out enough to get in behind some times you have to take out the speedo cable for more room .

Thanks heaps Glenn. The switch just pulled straight out with plenty of excess wire. Great stuff. :thumb:
