Yes, mach1's are a funny bunch!!

normally 05 in the vin # and 63C on the plate decode as a Mach, but everynow and then you get the 02 in the vin # but 63C on the door tag.

If theres no door tag, a MartyGra report is the only option to decode it if its a sportsroof or a MAch1

Kenny,

As for your dash and clock...I have sorted it for you

Rockets dash is the lighter shade of woodgrain and the one I have lined up is the darker shade that will match your door panels. The only problem is the circuit on the back may be toast so I would look at what rocket has done and go the digital....that looks awesome

here's another bit of trivia for you all

1970 was the only year that only a partial VIN was stamped on the inner fenders :thumb:

Original Tach in my car... But we currently have the WHOLE bloody dash out trying to get everyting working... Fuel was the only one working on arrival

- after a few days of heart ache we have the clock going, speedo going, an illuminated dash, temp and HOPEFULLY soon a Tach.

I want this baby to be 100%

Good on ya Matt sourcing the dash - looks a hell of a lot better with the wood

Still looking for a dash. The printed circuit on mine is cactus and I don't want to waste money on it when I intend changing it anyway. Even one needing reconditioned will do.

So, your car didn't have a tach-dash anyway. It was only standard on 428CJ 4 speed cars in 1969 (I believe only R-Codes had them std, but experts insist 4-speed Q-Codes had them too (apart from mine)) but auto's only had them as an option.
The only other cars to have them as standard fitment were Shelby's and Boss 429 cars, and the Shelby's (and maybe the B9's?) had a 140 mph speedo

However, the real trick is that to fit a tach dash, you need to change out the whole dash harness and the engine bay harness and alt harness (unless you do a wiring mod thats listed on the Boss302 forum).

Final caveat - SOME cars that weren't CJ 4-speed cars or Shelbys or Boss 429's got tachos fitted anyway without it being called out on the option list - God only knows why...

I'm not really after a tach dash Jiffy, I will be more than happy with the standard gauges.
