Hi Folks,
Just wondering if the club has a tool library where you can borrow, use and return special tools. The Ducati Owners club does this and its fantastic.:yellowpepper:
I have a couple of tools I can donate.
Any thoughts, answers greatly appreciated.
Anyone have an internal spring compressor for the front coils I could borrow?
regards
Phil.

I could lend you one, but would cost to much to post it to you. cheaper to make one. cost me about $20.00.
Threaded rod, old bearing, couple of nuts, and the bottom of an old shocker

Hi Exhausted,

Thanks for the offer, I'll need it in 2-3 weeks, after easter anyway. Can you u2u your details please and I'll contact you.
Definately won't be doing it the video way. I'm enjoying life at the moment and don't want to die!

69Candy, good job on the tool.:thumb: I might make one after I'm done as I will be replacing the front shocks when I do the front end.

Keep up the good work guys
regards
Phil

Hi,
I ended up making my own spring compressor with M16 Class 8.8 ( high tensile) hooker bar/all thread, thrust bearing from CBC Bearings and a bit of heavy plate for the top and bottom mounts. Bottom plate is a like a finger shim ( U shaped) to lock in on the all thread.

I actually borrowed Exhausted's to put my suspension together the first time but found my Lovells springs would coil bind on the big cast lower mount hence I fab'ed my own the second time round to adjust some front end issues.

Exhausted's looks slightly more polished than my home made but safe version.
