Anyone recommend a machine shop in Perth i can send my engine to get my stock 302w reco'd and sleeved in 1 cyl?

happy to travel for the right shop.

Got a quote for a full rebuild as $6-8k. since i am doing the rest myself, might be worth me building the engine myself once the machining is done.

Cheers!

Tim

Applied Automotive Engineering Maddington. Old school blokes that sell no bullshit and are an honest machine shop. They built the 351 Windsor in my race car and it is 3 seasons untouched and never missed a beat at 7400rpm each run

Tim,
Let me know how you go with research. I only did some preliminary work then got sidetracked with a manual conversion for mine. Now my garage is strewn with transmission and car is up on jackstands again. haha

Harris Engines quoted me about $1500 for basic machining and bottom end parts supply only. Head reco was to be another $500 machining wise. Mark from Harris seem relatively helpful and from my research seems OK.

Maybe wecan get a group buy discount 2 windsors for the price of one. I was going to tool up a bit ( better torque wrench etc) and have a crack at piecing it together myself too. Only one way to learn I reckon.

THe other option is Fordstrokers.com seems this company has an excellent reputation on all the US forums and they will ship to Fremantle for about $400.

Trav.

Yeah defintely let me know how you go. I was just going to build a warm roller 302 (maybe stroke it) and then tuck my original away in a shed for safe keeping.

Then you will ask ....where is the shed and buy my old date coded motor off me. haha

If you are going to stroke it I have the template for notching the base of the cylinders. (If that is what you are referring to "stroking it")  :smile01::smile01:
