315 5.4 ltr in my 67

Having been all over the Vic roads website, I need some help. Can I put a new Boss 315 - 5.4 engine into my 67 fastback? Without a heap of drama with vic roads.. I’ve read that if you change the drive line you change the build date and on the same page another paragraph states you can without effecting the 25 or older import regulations v rego .. Honestly the VIC roads webpage makes as much sense as petrol prices to me.. :flag:

I think you are OK.

According to here :

Vicroads

all you need is a VASS engineers certificate and then fill in the correct forms and take it to Vicroads for an inspection.

Your engineer will give you the definitive yes/no.

Cheers,
Frank.

I think it depends on how many mods ... Mine was $700 but I only had a coilover front end and disc brakes plus the usual stuff like headlights, seatbelts etc.

I would budget on about $1k.

There are lots of various Chevs and Holdens running around (legally) with LS1/2/3s .. Maybe jump on one of those forums for some first hand advice.

Cheers,
Frank.
