Hi Guys
Well I am new here and looking for any advice from you experienced members. l going to be p/up a 428 69 Mach 1 in the next few days when it clears customs etc getting real excited anyway it has had a full restoration a year or so ago so not expecting to much in the way of equipment not being up to scratch but will off course give it the once over. My question to you guys is what else will be expected by the RTA when I take over the pits here in WA any hint's  tips  or advice will be much appreciated. Cheers

Welcome and congrats on the 428 purchase, that's an awesome piece of machinery.
As far as licensing goes I'll mention what springs to mind, someone else with more recent experience might chip in.
Check all the roadworthy things: Handbrake (must hold the car in gear), windscreen washer/wipers, indicators, brake lights, number plate light etc all functioning properly. Dual mirrors (you'll have these anyway I guess), no oil leaks. Standard seat belts will be OK as long as they are not frayed and retract properly. Check ride height. Red flashing indicators should be acceptable.

You need to have an engine number clearly visible and your import approval, receipt of sale etc.

The requirements do vary from one licensing centre to another so it's pretty fluid and experiences will differ.

If the car is unmodified you should be OK. If it has been modified, you may need an engineer to sign off on it.

One more thing - How about some pics!

Will need to change headlights so they dip to the left & avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

Just a tip when it comes to going over the pits...try for the last appointment for the day and Friday would be the pick of the days, more likely to have them wnat to get you out of there quick so they can go home :)

Hi Mac 428,
Welcome, any pic's yet?

You can always book the session at Warwick. That's what I did. No waiting straight in and nice guys too. Knocked back first time and rightly so. Fixed the problems and straight over.
