225 tyres
« on: October 01, 2011, 09:37:26 am »
I currently have 225/60-14 tyres on my car.  According to a tyre size conversion chart I've got these have the same rolling diameter as the original (195 equivilant?) tyre which of course is good.  I was thinking of changing to 15 inch wheels and apparently I should be looking for 225/55-15 tyres,  which seem impossible to purchase.  Has anyone had any luck finding this size tyre?  it seems i might need to go to a 215/60-15,  but iI'd really rather keep the width I already have.

Go 225/60-15 and get your speedo checked, as you will be going a little faster that shown.

I had the front guards rolled to stop the wheels rubbing, if I go through a large dip in the road occasionally the tyres just touch on one of the front guards on the rebound but I can get the guard rolled a bit more to stop that.
