Looking for the right carby
« on: September 13, 2011, 05:34:17 pm »
I have recently purchased a 1967 GTA Coupe. Looking to replace the existing Holley carby with something more appropriate. My reading of the Ford Technical Manual indicates the Autolite 4100 4V as a preferred option. Can anybody provide me advice on whether that model would be the best fit and, if so, where I might source one? Alternatively, if not the right option, what would be best?

Where are you from?

Edit; Should add there are several versions of that Model Carb too!
Is it for a 390 or 289?
The 390 was factory fitted with a Holley 600 4 Barrel.

G'day Dale,

I'm helping Andrew find a correct carb for his GTA. Would you be kind enough to snap a pic of the Ford part number which should be stamped into the side of the right front ear (as you look at the carb if bolted on an engine), where it bolts down? There should also be a 3 digit number cast into the carb, like '112'. Can you tell me what that number is?

Cheers.
