So I am building a 1965 Coupe gt350 clone

I know the shelby was a fastback but I have what I have to work with

A question I have is shold I install the sidescoops or leave it blank as the 65 was side scoops were on the 66

I am not too fussed about being so specific but it is more a question of looks

What do you guys think
Can't wait to get it finished and enjoy it ! They need to have overhaulin here in Aus!!

I would keep them painted the same colour as the car

I got mine I think from Tony D Branda Performance.

sorry they are the same colour as the car but on the body of the car it was painted back where the side scoops covered the body to make it look like they were open

this example of a 350 coupe clone has it

Well I just had my car painted, and have the the bonnet and side scoops.

They were black underneath and looked crap.  I took them off and did them the same colour as the car, and I reckon they look heaps better.

But there is always a BUT, remember its your car do what you like, because you are the one that has to enjoy it.

Yes when you paint the car......it, & the scoops need to be painted seperatley then the side scoops need to be fitted which leaves the inside & the outside of the scoop the same colour as the car.......If you want the inside of the scoops black, it will be a bit more work but it is just a personal choice thing......it's your car & it has to satisfy only you.:thumb:

Not quite obvious enough to me that its painted ?? could just be a black grille at the mouth of the scoop ???? ( side ones )

As the owner of both a genuine '65 & '66 GT350, I can see both sides of the fence. I love my '65, but wish that they had the side scoops. I must say that it is compensated by factory side exit exhaust! Ha. I agree with the comment that you put on what you personally like. You're the one that will be looking at it, polishing it, lovin' it..!
